TeleCommons provides a participatory approach for rural telecommunication & networking project design and implementation, Internet applications for rural, agricultural and environmental development, and planning and operation of rural telecentres. We focus on the human dimensions of using telecommunications for rural development.

Our agency is distinguished by its broad base of knowledge and experience, both in terms of our technical expertise and our distinctly global focus. Our team combines technical expertise in telecommunications and Internet tools with skills in rural development planning, agricultural extension, geographic information systems applications, environmental planning, and development project management. We can provide an international clientele with research, recommendations, training services, and a variety of development-oriented networking and telephony applications.

Our international work has taken us to rural areas across Canada as well as in countries such as Chile, France, Egypt, Ghana, Haiti, Italy, Kenya, Nepal, Nicaragua, Peru, the Philippines, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. In these diverse environments we have provided support for rural and remote telephone and Internet installations, and applications of those systems for rural development purposes. Through rural multi-stakeholder consultations and rapid market appraisals, TDG develops and implements plans for a range of rural development programs, telecentre designs, geographic information system applications, and technical operations.
